VA Secretary McDonald Visits Core’s Willow Housing Development

On April 23rd, Secretary Robert McDonald of the Department of Veterans Affairs visited Core’s Willow Housing site which is now 40% through construction. The Secretary visited the Bay Area to meet local veterans and elected leaders to discuss important issues such as healthcare access and affordable housing.

The site visit was an opportunity to share what kinds of local and federal resources were combined to make possible the development of the 60 units to serve homeless veterans. The first step was the VA’s commitment of land, and then local City and County gap financing to supplement 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits. To learn more about this innovative and important project, visit Willow Housing’s website.
